Mr Marco Lam Yat-fung joined HPE in January 2025
Since graduating, Macro has embarked on a career in administrative work in the tertiary education sector. With experience in assisting office management, he has developed a solid foundation in supporting office operations and ensuring smooth workflows.
Macro joined HPE as an Executive Assistant. His major responsibilities at HPE include managing office equipment and assisting in daily operations for the department. He also assists in departmental promotion and marketing activities, such as updating teachers and students on the department’s latest news via the website.
With a strong commitment to teamwork and a detail-oriented approach, he strives to provide reliable and efficient administrative support for the department.

Mr Yuxin Zuo joined HPE in December 2024
Mr Yuxin Zuo graduated from the Master of Social Science in Sports Coaching and Management programme at EdUHK in 2023 and is currently a technician in the Department of Health and Physical Education. Prior to joining EdUHK, he worked at the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (2023-2024). He is a former footballer and physical education teacher and is a registered referee and coach with the Chinese Football Association and the Football Association of Hong Kong, China.
At HPE, Mr Zuo is responsible for the smart upgrade and renovation of sports hall, assisting HPE professors in conducting research on sports performance analysis, as well as providing technical support to staff and students.

Dr Ng Tsz-kit joined us as an Assistant Professor at MIT in December 2024
Dr Davy Ng has been an IT Panel Head at a local secondary school in Hong Kong and a visiting scholar at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He holds a PhD in Education and Technology from the University of Hong Kong (HKU), a Master of Education in Educational Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and has a postgraduate qualification in ICT Education from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
His research interests lie in the areas of (Generative) AI literacy, the metaverse and STEAM education, and technology-enhanced pedagogic innovation. He has published around 50 articles, many in Q1 journals, and authored a book on AI literacy that obtained the China New Development Award from Springer Nature in 2023. He was a recipient of the Social Innovation Leadership Award at CUHK and has been named in the 2024 Stanford's List of World's Top 2% Scientists in Education.

Dr Wei Zhengyuan joined us as an Assistant Professor at MIT in December 2024
Dr Jankin Wei Zhengyuan obtained his PhD in Computer Science from the City University of Hong Kong in 2023, where he received extensive research training, for which he is grateful. Before joining EdUHK, he was a post-doctoral fellow in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Hong Kong, where he developed a new research interest at the intersection of AI and Education.
His research interests primarily revolve around software engineering, with a current emphasis on the testing aspects of artificial intelligence (SE4AI & AI4SE). In his leisure time, he enjoys playing badminton and hiking, and he is open to making friends who share similar interests.

Dr Huang Zhiran joined us as a Research Assistant Professor at SSPS in December 2024
Dr Zhiran Huang is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Sciences and Policy Studies. He received his PhD from the Department of Geography, the University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining EdUHK, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, supported by the Postdoc Matching Fund Scheme. As a transport geographer, Dr Huang’s research interests focus on sustainable (transportation) development, travel behaviours, urban form, work-from-home, and transport equity. His work has been published in prestigious journals including Sustainable Cities and Society, Cities, Travel Behaviour and Society, and Journal of Transport Geography.

Dr Jiang Ronghao joined us as an RGC Postdoctoral Fellow at SSPS in November 2024
Dr Jiang Ronghao is a Research Grants Council (RGC) Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Social Sciences and Policy Studies. Dr Jiang earned his PhD from the Department of Geography, the University of Hong Kong. Before joining EdUHK, he worked as a Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Urban Planning and Design, the University of Hong Kong.
Dr Jiang’s research interests cover land and housing development, urban (re)development in China, and economic geography. He has received the Best Graduate Student Paper Award from China Geography Specialty Group of the Association of American Geographers in 2020, PhD Dissertation Year Fellowship from the University of Hong Kong in 2023, and the Graduate Student Paper Award from Asian Geography Specialty Group of the Association of American Geographers in 2023. He was also the recipient of a Graduate Dissertation Fellowship from the Peking University-Lincoln Institute of Land Policy in 2023.
